R6 Race Weekend 2011 Siverstone
Silverstone - RacePosted: Mon 13 Jun 2011
Kev ran hard and importantly stayed on the bike in a race with lots of fallers, which allowed him to clinch 13th position at the end of the race.
This earned Kev his second best result this season, and delivered part of the objectives that both the team and he had set at the beginning of the season.
Kev said:
Today it was important to stay on the bike. Yesterday I had set the goal of finishing in the top 12 and nearly succeeded. Still plenty to do, but we are moving forward.

Kev in action at Silverstone
In the practice sessions Kev said that this bike had much more potential than before and has worked hard on establishing the setup, but in the second practice the rain arrived and stopped further thorough testing the new bike.
However in the wet conditions with the wet, Kev remained among the top ten riders all the time, until minutes before the end of the session some rivers opted for dry tires because the track and allowed it and were able to improve times, causing Kev to slip down the order.

Today I was able to run in the top 10 in the wet and had it stayed that way surely would have remained there, we did not want to try the dry tyres, with just a few minutes to go we did not want to risk it.
Tomorrow if necessary we will take risks for the qualifying sesssion.
In conclusion, I'm happy with the progress made and feel we can qualify in a good position, I'm running at home and I do not want to disappoint anyone.
Saturday further confused the situation, by being dry, meaning Kev had to work on a dry setting with the new bike.
Kev pushed hard and qualified in 24th.

This bike is better but can not find the setup that I want to go faster. I improved from the previous races we’ve done, but I’m still far from being in the top 15, which is the goal I had scored earlier in the season.
